The two editions serve different needs. A quick guide.
You work daily with the Lucchi value and need to read it directly on the display, without doing arithmetic, and need the numeric compensations (wood moisture, bow mortises, violin F-holes). It is the bench instrument for the heavy daily user.
You need an accessible instrument for wood selection at the bench, quick checks on raw stock, or as a second unit for shop assistants. The propagation time Time is read directly, the Lucchi value is derived with a simple division.
